I have a new super easy free pattern for you today: Pumpkin with stem and tendrils!
Materials:
ā Lionbrandās Heartland in the colours Yosemite and Joshua Tree
ā US H8/ 4.50mm hook crochet hook
ā Fiberfill stuffing
ā Stitch markers
ā Sewing pins
ā Tapestry needle
ā Scissors
Abbreviations:
ch- chain
sc- single crochet
sl st ā slip stitch
YO sl st- yarn over slip stitch
BLO ā Back loop only
dec- dec
FO ā Fasten off
rnd ā round
(y)- y is the number of stitches in a round.
(ā¦) x N- repeat N times
The pumpkin part is worked first and then the stem and tendrils are added.
Pattern:
Pumpkin:
1. Ch 18
2. In the 2nd ch from hook, YO sl st in the back bumps (17)
3.ch 1, YO sl st in the BLO (17)
Repeat row 3 until you reach 36 rows in total. Bring the ends together and sl st together as shown in the picture below. FO. Leave a long tail.
Thread the tail through the tapestry needle. Work the needle through the stitches along the edge of the pumpkin until youāre back at the beginning.
Pull the yarn tail to cinch the pumpkin closed. Do not cut the tail.
Turn the pumpkin right side out and stuff as seen below.
With the yarn tail outside and threaded through the needle, push the needle from the top into the middle of the pumpkin at the bottom to create the āribs.ā Do this about 5 times. See picture below.
Stem:
Attach Joshua Tree yarn at the top of the pumpkin.
Rnd 1: 36 sc around (36). Place stitch marker in the first sc.
Rnd 2: 18 dec (18)
Rnd 3: (1 sc, 1 dec) x 6 (12)
Rnd 4: (2 sc, 1 dec) x 3 (9)
Rnd 5-6: 9 sc
Stuff the stem.
Rnd 7: (2 sc, 1 dec) x 3 (6)
